WCMC Internal Medicine Department Holds Workshop For Residents

On April 22, 2022, World Citi Medical Center’s Internal Medicine Department held a BLS-ACLS Workshop for its Residents as part of their Residency Training. The BLS-ACLS (Basic Life Support and Advanced Cardiac Life Support) workshop was attended by 1st year-3rd year Internal Medicine Residents, with lectures spearheaded by Consultants Dr. Ma. Luisa B. Afable (IM Residency Chairman), Dr. Melvin R. Hacutina (IM Residency Training Officer) and Dr. Rosalinda Dizon. The residents also had written and practical exams on the subject matter.

BLS and ACLS are considered as essential aspects of the medical curriculum. These trainings help medical practitioners to provide life-saving and life-sustaining support to anyone who is experiencing cardiac arrest, respiratory distress or an obstructed airway.
