Despite the heavy rainfall, organizers, doctors, students, and other volunteers continue the yearly medical and dental mission of Miriam College High School last October 14. “Project Green Light: Pag Healthy Happy” is a project of the Grade 11 Sub-Council of the Family Council of Miriam College High School.
World Citi Medical Center resident doctors, nurses, and volunteers through the leadership of Medical Director Dr. Margarita Santella-Jara joined the event to give medical consultations. Dr. Lastimosa had her hands full with women availing of the free Pap smear. It was relief for some with tooth problems to know that the event also have tooth cleaning and extraction for free.
The day wasn’t only dedicated to give medical and dental assistance but also other relaxing treats to every member of the family. Free haircut, SSS information booth and free lugaw and ice cream were readily available. Kids had a fun time waiting for their parents’ check-up with free coloring books as well as playing with other children and volunteer students.
Every patient went home grateful that they were given prescribed medications and health kits. WCMC team are likewise happy knowing they extended a hand to those in need. We would like to commend the doctors, medical staff, and the organizers for another successful charitable service. (LABB)
